Mya G.

I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. I began my career in academic writing + publishing, particularly in editing scholarly text in the liberal arts and humanities as well as creating educational products with publishers such as Pearson Education, MacMillan, Sadlier, and Worth. Primarily, I now focus on creating narratives with and for creative entrepreneurs, small business owners, artists, and nonprofits organizations.

My personal creative work as a poet, collagist, zine maker and crafter garnered the attention of Santa Fe based nonprofit, Creative Santa Fe. I also have an article forthcoming in New Mexico Magazine.

My emerging online publication, Haus of S + M is an amalgam of luxury and grit — firsthand testimonies to the continuum of disparity and luxury in life, art, travel, and socio cultural relations — that I co-curate with my partner, Shakaya McFarland.

For me, controversy isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to arrest your audience. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to turn the page and learn more about your idea. Ultimately, it’s about creating something uniquely memorable.
